Saturday brought beautiful weather. The day started off with heading to church for the annual lefse party. Even though we had other plans the girls and I didn't want to miss it, so we headed up early, and left early, but it was worth it. We just didn't get it all made, so I have to figure out when we will have time to finish it. Then we had friends join us at our house. We spent the afternoon outside in 72 degree weather. Never before have I allowed my kids to have popsicles and a water fight on Nov. 10. It was crazy, and fun. After they left Eric and I even got our garden and flower beds mostly cleaned out and burned. Plus he grilled, it was too nice to come in. We tried hanging out on the deck as long as we could, but around 9:30 the rain came. With it brought different weather.
Today was cold. While we were at church #1 it started snowing. By the time we left to head to church #2 it was sticking, and very windy. The girls had to sing at Mount Olive, so that is why we went to two. We headed home for lunch and then back into the blustery weather for their recital. Rylee was the opening pianist. Afterwards their teacher told me that she put her at the beginning of the 41 students because she knew Rylee could handle it, and she did. It was so wonderful to hear her play "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" for everyone else. Olivia wasn't far behind in the lineup, and she did equally as well while playing, "Ode to Joy". She even liked to perform in front of everyone and played for her friends at Lutheran Girl Pioneers this evening. Rylee, Olivia and Claire are in that and this year they have the theme of cooking. Tonight they made a feast of mashed potatoes, green beans, meat and fresh squeezed/banged around ice cream. They even ate so much they didn't feel like a bedtime snack, so I know it must have been good.
